Katie received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in child development from the University of Michigan and is currently finishing the master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program through Judson University by completing her internship with Samaritan Counseling Center.
With 9 years of experience in the field of social work, Katie has worked in a variety of settings including schools, residential facilities, and agencies seeing clients of all ages. Her clinical interests include infertility and pregnancy loss, parenting issues, anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, LGBTQ+ issues, and emotional dysregulation difficulties. She also has experience with IEPs and 504 plans.
Whether helping an individual through a difficult time or assisting families when typical behavior modification techniques are not working, Katie uses a person-centered approach to create a warm, non-judgmental environment in which clients can feel safe, heard, and understood.
Katie utilizes techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Relational Neuroscience. She is comfortable incorporating spiritual and religious beliefs at the client’s request.
